HMCS stands for Her Majesty’s Court Service. You have not arrived at the HMCS site, but this site is a privately owned guide to all matters relating to the English Courts system, how it works, what you need to know if you are using the courts, news and views.
Part of our plan is to categorise each county court in England & Wales and create a forum where experience can be shared about experience of that court. whilst the law is in theory the same whichever court you are in, different courts can create a completely different experience, different judges have different approaches. sometimes it is possible to choose which court to use, so this information will be valuable to others. Clearly, we need to strike a note of caution…. the forum will not be a “free for all” for slagging off lawyers, judges and court staff. We will act as moderators and any views stated should be carefully put with the responsibility on the poster to ensure accuracy and we can accept no liability for possible inappropriate or incorrect statements of fact or opinion by posters.
